P2.9 Science detector calibrations (on the telescope)
- Phase : 2
- Status : Draft
- Category : Daytime testing (functionality and operability) (C3) + Daytime calibration (C4)
- Recurrence : on a regular basis as per the requirement
- Duration : 1 day
Description
- After installing the SHARK-NIR at the LBT platform, the science detector is tested for all its read-out modes, windowing possibilities. Also, some of the calibration scripts are rechecked.
Prerequisites
- SCICAM cooled down.
Procedure
- Repeat the science calibrations below (some of these are performed when SHARK-NIR was in the LBT cleanroom or at Padova cleanroom. Check P1.11) for details.
Code | Activity | Location to perform this test |
SDC1 | Instrumental background for science | Padova / LBT cleanroom / LBT Platform |
SDC2 | Instrument flat field, detector linearity and bad pixels | Padova / LBT cleanroom |
SDC3 | Wavelength calibration | Padova / LBT cleanroom? |
SDC4 | Thermal background | Padova / LBT cleanroom / LBT Platform |
SDC5 | Detector gain | Padova / LBT cleanroom / LBT Platform? |
SDC6 | Detector persistence | Padova / LBT cleanroom / LBT Platform? |
SDC7 | Spectral resolution | Padova / LBT cleanroom |
SDC8 | Ghost calibration | Padova |

Success criteria
- All calibrations are successfully tested.
- All relevant information (files) are saved in the repository.
Notes
- The time dedicated to this activity has to be considered in combination with other activities. Parallelism is possible.
