P1.9 Science detector calibrations

  • Phase : 1
  • Status : Draft
  • Category : Unpack, Assemble, Verification, and Installation (C1)
  • Recurrence : once
  • Duration : 1 day

Description

  • Calibration and testing of the SHARK-NIR science detector

Prerequisites

  • SHARK-NIR connected to LBT network.
  • Electronics cabinets on.
  • The cryostat should be running and cooled down.
  • Internal alignment of the SHARK-NIR is verified.

Procedure

  • check bias calibration & master dark scripts and then perform the following daytime calibration procedures below.
SDC1Instrumental background for science
SDC2Instrument flat field, detector linearity and bad pixels
SDC3Wavelength calibration
SDC4Thermal background
SDC5Detector gain
SDC6Detector persistence
SDC7Spectral resolution
SDC8Ghost calibration

Success criteria

  • linearity as expected
  • bad pixels mask created
  • bias and flat took
  • All individual activity (in the table) success criteria is met

Notes

  • Save all the intermediate images to check the SHARK-NIR Data Reduction pipeline.

Date performed and by whom

Comments MB: not sure about all these. It should already take place in Padova. For sure bias offset will be recomputed at these elevation due to different temperature than can be reached
