P2.2 Instrument operability and functioning
- Phase : 2
- Status : Draft
- Category : Daytime testing (functionality and operability) (C3)
- Recurrence : once after instrument installation at telescope platform
- Duration : 2 days
Description
- The functionality and operability of individual components/sub-systems are tested. Verification of the internal alignment of the instrument is performed using the light source within. The final step is the performance of the system.
Prerequisites
- All electronics and services are up and running.
Procedure
- Initialize all the motors/sub-systems.
- Check the functionality of all the motors (home position, named/nominal positions, and reaching software limits).
- Check the working of all the light sources.
- Using the on-axis diffraction-limited light source, check the internal alignment of the SHARK-NIR.
- Check the relative positions of the coronagraphic masks.
- Check of on-axis optical quality.
Templates
Success criteria
- Motors and light sources are working as they should.
- The internal alignment is preserved.
- Performance of the system is acceptable.
