ALPAO DM 97-15
Ethernet connection
To communicate with the ALPAO DM 97-15 control electronics, follow these actions (under MS Windows 10):
- Choose a static IP address for the electronics, such as 192.168.103.70
- Turn OFF ALPAO control electronics
Install ALPAO control electronics driver and SDK
- Provide yourself with a copy of ALPAO provided USB key, (it contains the ALPAO Software Development Kit)
- Copy the content of the USB key on your PC
- Open the Config directory
- Move the file BAX191.acfg on your Desktop (this is to circumvent previleges access issues)
- Modify the file BAX191.acfg by deleting its content and writing:
interface eth ip <insert the chosen IP address> startChannel 0 deVersion 7
- Save the file BAX191.acfg and close the editor
- Move back the file BAX191.acfg to Config directory
- If running F-Secure, disable it
- Start the ALPAO setup program
- When requested to choose the driver to install, choose USB
- When the installation is finished, turn ON ALPAO control electronics
Change ALPAO control electronics IP
For this, you find detailed instruction in the Ethernet Static IP manual, stored in the Manualdirectory in the ALPAO USB.
When asked to change the file BAX191.acfg, just check its content, it should already contain the correct values.
Check the connection
Run the file example.exe stored in the installed directory C:\Program Files\Alpao\SDK\Samples\MSVC\Bin
The connection works if, while example.exe runs:
- the data LED in front of the electronics blinks
- the link LEDs on the back side of the electronics blink
example.exe moves each actuator one by one, it is not a bad idea to check this in front of an interferometer ;).
