P2.1 Activating the instrument, basic check, initiate cryostat cool down

Description

  • Activating the instrument after the installation of SHARK-NIR at the telescope platform. Also, various instrument states will be tested including the emergency shutdown switch.

Prerequisites

  • SHARK-NIR installed on the LBT telescope platform.

Procedure

  • Switch on all the cabinets, follow the instrument telemetry and see if the telemetry is logging.
  • Turn on all the hardware subsystems turned on and start all the corresponding services. Check all the logs from the services.
  • Start the cryostat is cool down.
  • Test the emergency shutdown button.
  • Testing the electronics and SW rotation of the knob controlling the cool down process (LBTO side. Maria knows more details)
  • Cool down the cryostat

Success criteria

  • Activating instrument successfully.
  • All systems turned on and the services all running without any errors.
  • Cryostat cooling started and on-track.
  • Emergency shutdown button working correctly.

Notes

LBTO support

  • Communicate while checking the emergency shutdown button.
  • Testing the electronics and SW working of the knob (motor) controlling the cooldown.
  • Liquid Nitrogen fill

MB: cabling between cabinet and SHARK-NIR patch boxes for motors and panel for other needs to take place either on the instalaltion, here or adding a point in between.

MB: No button is foreseen. However shutdown procedure should be checked
