== P2.1 Activating the instrument and testing instrument states & transitions == • **Phase** : 2 • **Status** : Draft • **Category** : Daytime testing (functionality and operability) (C2) • **Recurrence** : after instrument installation at telescope platform • **Duration** : 1 hour(s) **Description** • Activating the instrument after the installation of SHARK-NIR at the telescope platform. Also, various instrument states will be tested including the emergency shutdown switch. **Prerequisites** • SHARK-NIR installed on the LBT telescope platform. **Procedure** • Switch on all the cabinets, follow the instrument telemetry and see if the telemetry is logging. • Turn on all the hardware subsystems turned on and start all the corresponding services. Check all the logs from the services. • Start the cryostat is cool down. • Test the emergency shutdown button. • Testing the electronics and SW rotation of the knob controlling the cool down process (LBTO side. Maria knows more details) • Cool down the cryostat **Success criteria** • Activating instrument successfully. • All systems turned on and the services all running without any errors. • Cryostat cooling started and on-track. • Emergency shutdown button working correctly. **Notes** **LBTO support** • Communicate while checking the emergency shutdown button. • Testing the electronics and SW working of the knob (motor) controlling the cool down. **Associated SHARK-NIR personnel** • JF, LM, MdP, MM (from AZ) **Date performed and by whom**
