== P1.4 Cable in the instrument, power on, install workstations, connect to LBT network, and cryostat cooldown preparation== - **Phase** : 1 - **Status** : Draft - **Category** : Unpack, Assemble, and Verification (C1) - **Recurrence** : once - **Duration** : 1 day **Description** - At the LBT clean room, cable in the instrument. Power on the electronics, install workstations (in the server room), and connect SHARK-NIR to the LBT network. In parallel, prepare for the cryostat cooldown. **Prerequisites** - Presence of all the necessary tools and safety features to do the cabling. A free and accessible network port to connect SHARK-NIR to the LBT network. **Procedure** - Carefully cable in SHARK-NIR. - Switch on the electronics. - Install the instrument workstation (and its copy/backup) and the scientific camera (SCICAM) workstation in the server room. - Connect SHARK-NIR to the LBT network. - Ready essential laptops ready with all the relevant software for the cleanroom activity. Check the connection with both the workstations mentioned earlier. - Prepare for the cryostat cooldown. Start the vacuum pumping (vacuum pressure of 10e-5 Torr is good (see the cryostat manual SHARK-NIR_SO-MAN-001 for details). **Templates** **Success criteria** - Electronics are powered on (working of led lights, fans, etc.). - SHARK-NIR can be accessed through the LBT network (e.g. Switching on/off services remotely from the control room). **Notes** - SCICAM is redundant with other SCICAM computers inside of LBTI. There will not be a separate SCICAM workstation copy/backup. - Precautionary Warning (for INAF people): __Before switching on the Mocon electronics and Lakeshore, check that they are set to 115V use.__ - Check P1.5 for more details on vacuum pumping for cryostat cooldown. **LBTO support** - Need 2 free and accessible network ports to connect (a) the SHARK-NIR instrument network switch to the LBTO network, and (b) a working laptop/computer to the LBTO network. - We need fiber link connection from the cleanroom to the server room. - IT support to install/set the workstations in the proper location, and connect to the LBT network. - At the server room, we need 9 free network ports to connect SHARKNIRWS, SHARKNIRWS2, SASHAWS to the LBTO network. Also, we need 6 free standard electric plugs. - At the cleanroom, we will need 1 power plug for the surge suppressor, and the maximum expected load will be of the order of 880W. Our PDUs will be connected to the surge suppressor. Also, a couple of other normal power plugs for connecting laptops, monitors, etc. are required along with an extension power strip. - LBTO SW support may be needed. -Vacuum pump and support for cooling down the cryostat. We do not yet have the dimensions of the vacuum pump (available from LBTO) and how the LN2 refill will take place. - We will require UPS connected to the turbo pump when pumping vacuum in the cryostat. UPS which can hold the power for 15 minutes would be sufficient. In case of a power outage, within 15 minutes, one of the SHARK-NIR team members can go to the pump and close the valve preserving the vacuum within the cryostat. [[Image(SHARK-NIR_Computer_Structure.png,50%)]] ** Results** - Box-16: Davide installed the two workstations into server room B with the help of LeRoy. After a bit of misunderstanding, we will use the 192.168.61.X subnet as foreseen. When Sasha workstation arrives, it will be initially mounted on the clean room rack because of the missing mono-mode fiber connection from the server room. - We performed all cabling of the instrument to the electronics and switch on the power. - We opened the carter of the instrument and identified a loose screw. - We identified a missing screw on ND4 filter support, Checking old pictures before shipment (June 06) we confirmed that the screw was present before shipment. - We rotated the SCIFI-II wheel with Mikromove and re-inserted the screw. - We identified other loose screws on the SCIFI wheels and closed them. - Cisco switch was reconfigured by IT staff (Le Roy, remotely supported) in order to match 192.168.61.x LBTO parameters (which is on a separate VLAN, while in OAPD we did not have it). - We let some free ports as DHCP on 192.168.49.x on Cisco if a laptop connection is needed. - It was necessary to add gateway 192.168.61.1 to all our devices. - Currently we do not have a nameserver, so we have to use IP addresses. Soon, we will have something such as .shark-nir.lbto.org **Date performed and by whom** - Davide Ricci, - Le Roy, other LBTO staff
