== P1.3 Installation of SHARK-NIR HW and electronics in clean room == - **Phase** : 1 - **Status** : Draft - **Category** : Unpack, Assemble, and Verification (C1) - **Recurrence** : once - **Duration** : 1.5 days **Description** - Install and integrate the different SHARK-NIR opto-mechanical components onto the mechanical structure. Install the electronics into a temporary rack, and move the unit to the cleanroom. **Prerequisites** - All the necessary tools and safety features to do the installation, integration, are in the cleanroom. The mechanical structure to hold SHARK-NIR should be assembled and ready to be used. **Procedure** - Carefully integrate the cryostat unit with the derotator-optical bench unit. - Before installing the electronics into a temporary rack in the cleanroom, take it to the LBT Platform cabinet at Level-6 (its final destination) shared with iLocater for sanity checks. - Set up the electronics racks in the cleanroom. **Templates** **Success criteria** - The SHARK-NIR is primarily assembled onto the mechanical structure. - The motor electronics rack fits perfectly well at the LBT Platform cabinet (its final destination) shared with iLocater. If not, communicate with the responsible person with the changes required. - Electronics racks are set up and ready to use. **Notes** - See AD11 for more details. - Info from Laura Funk (via Slack): "Pat measured the footprint of the clean tent. It measures 2.7m X 3.5m (inside the tent and frame boundary)". Added on 2 March 2022 - Precautionary Warning to INAD-PD People: __Before installing electronics in the cabinet, do NOT forget to remove the fan from above DM electronics. To perform this operation requires opening the DM electronics (see image below).__ **LBTO support** - Crane operator to lift and move stuff (mountain bay and/or cleanroom). In particular, a crane operator is needed to install the instrument and other components to their handling. Refer to AD11 for details. - Forklift to move boxes. - 1-2 crew to support installation procedure (mountain bay and/or cleanroom). - Access to the LBTO electronics cabinet (Level 6) where the motor rack of SHARK-NIR will be installed. - Optical bench - Newport model RS 4000 already available in LBTO is fine. The minimum size of the optical bench we need is 900mm X 1800mm. Note that the optical bench may not be required at all. We request here, however, in case, for any reason, we need to open the cover of the SHARK-NIR bench and need some intervention. - Access to the clean tent (of an area of 2.7m x 3.5m would be sufficient with the optical bench inside). - Normal supplies for the clean tent (apparel, head covers, nytril gloves, shoe covers, etc.) - A desk (100cm x 60cm area), not necessarily in the clean tent, but in the cleanroom area where we can place two laptops, and 2 monitors, etc. - If LBTO has an electronics rack available to mount the SHARK-NIR electronics for the duration from unboxing to installation at the telescope platform, SHARK-NIR can avoid shipping what we have from Padova. What we have in Padova has the following dimensions 58cm x 71cm x 185cm approximately, but a shorter one would still be acceptable for us. Below is the photo of our rack in Padova.
